Photovoltaic systems
The photovoltaic systems under the net-metering scheme are directly connected to the electricity Network of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC). The particular scheme enables EAC customers to install a system of nominal power between 3kW to 10kW at their households or small businesses to cover their daily energy consumption needs.
You can install a Photovoltaic system of nominal power of 10kW – 10MW at any kind of industrial premises including hotels, supermarkets and factories. Harnessing solar power can lower the environmental footprint of your business, increase the energy efficiency and enhance sustainable development practices. The lower the energy efficiency of your building is, the higher the financial yield of your investment.
This scheme can be applied to commercial systems operating with renewable energy sources. The producers under this scheme are obliged to take part in the competitive market with the operation of the new electricity market model. The participants will no longer be allowed to sell their generated energy to the EAC at its cost of avoidance.
